Mother's Day!

Like todays topic suggest, Id like to wish a happy mom's day to all moms! :)
The history of moms day here in Finland isnt all that interesting, as it relates to the tradition founded in the states (Anne Jarvis?). Soo, I went for a longish walk yesterday (10km?) with me cam! Took a few pics of flowers and whatnot, it being spring and all! Remarkable the transition, awesome! :) Anyhow, since I cant congratulate any reader moms directly, have a look at these flowers instead! As said, Happy Mother's Day!

AFAIK - A few windflowers!

A dandelion to cheer you up! :)

Cant remember the name of this one, can you?

Haven't got the foggiest what plant this is, drop me a line if you do! Beautiful anyhow!

Cant remember what this is called either, very pretty though imho!

This one is of a tree near where I live, cherry perhaps or apple?

Hi JT,
I'm not a mom, well---sort of, to dogs and cats and I love them dearly.

These pictures are gorgeous! I love the dandelion, as I don't think many people would stop to appreciate its special charm. I'm going to send your blog link to a friend of mine who knows a lot about flowers. Maybe he can name the others.

Cheers,
Lydia

Thanks Lydia, I too like the dandelion for it's "simplicity" and way it from time to time catches one's eye :)

It would be fun to hear what the plants are called, let's see if your friend knows :)

JT,
I emailed him the link to your blog so, yes, we'll see if he can define those flowers.
Wanted you to know that tonight (early morning now!) I blogged about my Finnish grandmother, so I thought you might want to read that particular post.

Here's to simplicity!
Lydia
