Hello there dear readers.
The past few days have been quite difficult, or possibly some the hardest days to date for many. And me too. Has the world gone crazy? It seems that everyday the news spits out stories of death, war, financial crisis and other down right sh*tty things.
The Kauhajoki tragedy seems to have spawned a lot of debate and discussion in foreign media as well as Finnish media. Good or bad? I dont know, but it seems that many people are looking back at the 'good old days', sure things might have "better" back then, but the world has changed quite drastically. I personally think that instead goin' on about 'em good old days, people should incorporate what we have and turn our gaze forward - instead of backward. Like an old finnish (?) saying goes (roughly translated) It's ok to fall down, but one must not stay/lie on the ground. It's time to learn from what we experienced and act according to them.
Well, if this whole tragedy was not enough I experienced a heart wrenching loss myself. I had to have my beloved 16 year old dog put to sleep. No longer was she the happy little dog I used to know, several ailment troubled her and she was deaf and had impaired vision. No more pain, no more drugs, no more collars, no embarassing incontinence, no more infections. Sleep well dear Nita, I love you. She fell asleep in my hands on the 23 of September 16:45.
For all those suffering from whatever reason, hugs.

Hi Jt,
I didn't have much time recently to read your blog,
but I am back ;)
I wanted just to say sorry for your cute dog.
Hugs!
JT,
I apologize for not being around for some weeks, especially after the terrible school shooting. And, now, to come here and learn that you were touched not only by the national tragedy but suffered the loss of your Nita makes my heart heavy for you. The loss of a precious pet is one of life's most difficult things; it certainly has been for me. I hope that as the weeks have passed that you've felt a peace and the beginning of healing, for you and for Finland.
