Fire and Ice teaser..

Hi there readers,
I was planning on writing a proper post a tad later on, but happened to bump into this video by accident. Never heard of it before, but seems quite interesting and I'd actually like to see the whole film/documentary. Any of you seen it? Fire and Ice.

Here's the teaser/trailer:

On a more lighter note, I've always liked the lights on amusement park rides and such, not much of a junkie on 'em rides themselves but the atmosphere and details in amusement parks are interesting and fun. Found this clip on youtube from Linnanmäki amusement park at twilight, kinda wish it was longer but fun clip anyhow:

An another clip from the same amusement park, it's very own aquarium, which is kinda neat :)

Hey! My brother (half-brother, actually with same Finn dad) sent me a VHS tape of Fire and Ice last year. He lives in Duluth Minnesota and had recorded it from their public broadcasting service there. I don't think it ran out West so I was really happy he thought to send it to me.

The amusement park and aquarium vids are both thoughtful and artistic pieces. I love those water jet bursts and the amazing roller coaster. That elevator with "1950-2008" written on it is intriguing and I wonder what the anniversary signified.

Have you joined Blogcatalog? It would be a way for your blog to get more exposure. You have such a great blog and I think you need lots more readers!

Hiya, so how was the film? Seems to have interesting stuff about american volunteers and so forth.

The 1950-2008 tag probably refers to the opening of the amusement park as it was opened in 1950, and the amusemnt park has a wooden rollercoaster built in 1951. Which is actually a really cool ride, as the scents of wood and creaking are really nice :)

No, afaik I havn't joined any catalogs or such, as this blog kinda originated as a list of stuff for an immigrant friend (yo, Craig if yer reading this write that article!!) and went on from there, and Im quite new to all the SEO and such stuff, maybe Ill try to find some good catalog, you know of any? And maybe someday, after I win the lottery or so Ill grab my own domain to host my stuff :)

Merry Christmas!

Yes, the film was excellent. I learned lots.

I think Blogcatalog would be a good catalog for you. You don't need to have your own domain, so even if you don't win the lottery you can reap the benefits of more readers and many communities to join.

If you go to my archive I have a post in Dec. called "Have Yourself a Medieval Christmas" in which I have a Finnish thing I found out about. Maybe you already know all about it!

Happy New Year, J.T.
